GETTING THERE

For self-drivers the region is accessed by the coastal route from Christchurch, via Kaikoura; or the inland route via the Lewis Pass (both 6hrs). From the interisland ferry terminal at Picton, Nelson is a 2 hour drive.

We can arrange transport from Nelson airport to Marahau or Kaiteriteri the southern gateways to the park. This drive will take one hour.

Your trip to Kanuka Hill Lodge by water taxi will take around 30 minutes, with a couple of stops at scenic highlights. You may get your feet wet at either end of the taxi trip - it's time to leave the city clothes behind! There is secure parking for vehicles at Marahau. Please note the last scheduled water taxi departs at 3pm.

If you choose to walk in (3hrs) we can arrange to have your luggage delivered to the lodge. Kayaking in to Anchorage can also be arranged.

 

 

The lodge will be closed for the 2006/2007 season but please look through our site. Watch this space for a new opening date.
