LODGE
FACILITIES
Kanuka
Hill Lodge is right in the heart of the Abel Tasman National Park. The
park is not serviced by phone or electric power, but at Kanuka
Hill Lodge we generate our own electricity, bring gas in for cooking and
provide most of the comforts you're used to in the city. There is no television
and you may have to walk along the beach to get a cell phone signal. A
holiday at Kanuka Hill Lodge gives you the opportunity to relax to the
song of the native forest birds, to follow the sun on our sweeping verandahs
and to snuggle down with a book from our library.
Accommodation
There
are three comfortable guest rooms all with their own ensuites with showers.
Two king/twin rooms and One queen room.
We also offer: Fresh flowers in all rooms, Library of NZ books and national
magazines, maps and information on the Abel Tasman, spacious verandahs.
We
never have more than 6 guests at Kanuka Hill and
we're sure you will enjoy meeting other travellers drawn by the special
atmosphere Kanuka Hill offers.
However for a more intimate holiday you can arrange to book the lodge
out for fewer than 6 people, at a negotiated rate.
Food
Dinner: After a day out walking or kayaking, come home to a three
course New Zealand dinner. The soups, entrees, mains and desserts vary
according to the season. Enjoy local scallops or crabs when they are available,
fresh vegetables from our own garden and an outdoor barbecue on a warm
summer evening.
Sample
one of New Zealand's award winning Chardonnays or Pinot Noirs, or sit
back with a chilled New Zealand beer from our well stocked bar.
Breakfast:
Wake up to a full continental or cooked breakfast, served at the time
you like it. Enjoy chilled fruit juice, fruit and cereal on the deck,
or indulge yourself with the full traditional bacon and eggs.
Lunch:
If you're heading out by foot or by kayak we'll pack you a gourmet
lunch to enjoy on one of the park's golden beaches or shady riverside
resting spots.
At the lodge we serve a relaxed midday meal of salads, cold meats, quiche,
breads, homemade preserves, cheeses, fruit etc.
In
Betweens
Staff will make tea and coffee on request, served with a selection of
New Zealand's renowned home baking.
